THE PROJECT

The population of students has become more diverse due to societal changes and increased migration. In the past, class groups were also heterogeneous to a certain extent, but the one-size-fits-all approach was the predominant model. In most teaching practices it is still the case, also because of the workload of teachers.

The main objective of this project is to support teachers and schools in the implementation of AI driven technology tools as a way to address diversity. Discussions of potential risks of AI are still relevant, but teachers need practical guidance of what the opportunities could be to integrate the AI driven tools into classroom practices. The objective of this project is to focus on the AI technologies that could foster aspects of inclusion to reach equity amongst students. AI tools can provide personalised learning tracks, both for students who lack certain skills and prior knowledge, as well as for high achievers or early finishers who often get bored by the absence of learning challenges. In some cases AI could also support accessibility and be helpful for students with special needs.

Daiverse is a small scale project Key Action 2 project co-funded by the European Union. The project is coordinated by Lernacon (BE) and has school partners from Belgium, Austria and Slovakia. Also part of the consortium is an expert on Inclusion.

The project ends on 14 December 2024.
